Our Work in Africa

African Caribbean Re-Union works closley with Christ Evangelical Ministry in Sierra Leone. Christ Evangelical Ministry is a non-denominational Christian organisation whose main aim is to eradicate illiteracy spiritually and socially; as a result, they have continued to provide free education, as well as distribute bibles to individuals and churches; clothes to poor communities; and medication

In September 1997, with the help of African Caribbean Re-union, Christ Evangelical Ministry established a primary school in Kathantha, providing free education to children living in ten villages. Due to an attack by rebels on the village during which the school and houses as well as lives were lost, we moved to Wellington, Freetown and established a nursery and primary school in Freetown. In November 2001, we were able re-instate the primary school in Kathantha

Other projects that have been completed include a well being dug to enable access to clean water supplies for the villages and new toilet facilities being put in place
